Lord Chaitanya brought a new way to show devotion through group celebrations (sankirtana) of Krishna.
He focused on the emotional side of devotion, which changed how people expressed their faith. This is mentioned in the History of Indian Philosophy.

The Chaitanya-charitamrita, written in the 1500s, says Lord Chaitanya is actually Lord Krishna Himself! This means He’s God in human form.
In these sacred teachings, the highest truth shows up in three ways:
- As formless energy (Brahman)
- As the guide within all hearts (Paramatma)
- As a person with form (Bhagavan)
Lord Krishna is called the original Bhagavan. All other divine forms come from Him.
These holy books say Lord Chaitanya came to start the sankirtana movement – group chanting of God’s names. This fulfilled predictions made in another text called the Srimad-Bhagavatam.

The Three Features of the Absolute Truth in Lord Chaitanya’s Philosophy
Lord Chaitanya taught us that God can be understood in three different ways. These three views of the same truth help us see how people can know God at different stages of their spiritual journey.
The first way is called Brahman. This is God as a formless energy that’s everywhere around us.
The second way is Paramatma, or the Supersoul. This means God lives inside every living thing, like a friend who’s always with us.
The third way is Bhagavan. This means seeing God as a person with a form. Lord Chaitanya taught that Krishna is this personal form of God.
Lord Chaitanya explained that Krishna is actually the source of all these three ways of seeing God. As we grow spiritually, we can understand more and more about who God really is.
Lord Chaitanya’s Spiritual Movement Around the World
Lord Chaitanya started a spiritual movement in Bengal in the 1500s. Today, it has spread all over the world and touches people from all walks of life.
His movement is known for group chanting of Krishna’s names. This is called sankirtana. It goes beyond culture and religion by showing spiritual knowledge as something for everyone, not just one group.
Lord Chaitanya taught that anyone can feel divine love. It doesn’t matter:

- What your social status is
